Who am I?

I am a dedicated educator, former Hollywood story editor, tireless designer/creator, and beginner handbalancer. I challenge my fears and limitations every day to help students overcome theirs, and develop insight and self-acceptance in the process.

Why “Luminous Minds?”

At my ordination at San Francisco Zen Center in 2009, my teacher gave me a name that translates as “Bright Heart, Luminous Mind.” I find that casting light on how students regard themselves as learners is the first step in helping them recognize and embrace their abilities.
