Giving students tools to navigate the writing process

Most middle school and high school programs expect students to excel as writers, but might not provide enough instruction about grammar, how to organize essays, or how to revise and correct your own writing. I provide students with a personalized program to address any aspects of organizing, writing, and editing that they are not entirely comfortable with, helping to demystify the writing process and give them tools that they can rely on for years to come.

Specialized writing help for students with learning differences

Students with learning differences who are struggling with writing grammatically complete sentences, organized paragraphs, or grade-level essays will benefit from instruction in the University of Kansas Strategic Instruction Model (SIM) strategies in writing. According to the University of Kansas, “the SIM writing strategies have been shown in research studies to produce substantial and socially significant gains in students’ writing performance.”
